The EIS seeks to provide temporary financial assistance for up to six months to workers who are retrenched. It also aims to provide extended welfare coverage and aid in job search.<\/div>\n<p>The following assistance are offered to employees who lost their jobs:-<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Instant cash assistance<\/li>\n<li>Assistance in finding new jobs<\/li>\n<li>Increase employability<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<hr \/>\n<h5><strong>EIS Allowance and Benefits<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>The following monetary allowances and benefits will be provided to employees:-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Job search allowance<\/li>\n<li>Early Re-employment allowance<\/li>\n<li>Training fee<\/li>\n<li>Reduced income allowance<\/li>\n<li>Training allowance<\/li>\n<li>Job relocation and counselling<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h5><strong>Scope of EIS Wages<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Salary<\/li>\n<li>Pay leave<\/li>\n<li>Holidays<\/li>\n<li>Overtime<\/li>\n<li>Extra work on holiday<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h5><strong>Exemption on EIS<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Travelling allowance<\/li>\n<li>Employee Provident Fund (EPF)<\/li>\n<li>Special expenses (claims)<\/li>\n<li>Gratuity<\/li>\n<li>Annual bonus<\/li>\n<li>Benefits (Benefit-In-Kind\/Value of Living Accommodation)<\/li>\n<li>Other remuneration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h5><strong>Exclusion from EIS<\/strong><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li>Age 18 and below<\/li>\n<li>Age 60 and above<\/li>\n<li>New employee age 57 and above<\/li>\n<li>Public sector<\/li>\n<li>Self-employed\/sole proprietors<\/li>\n<li>Domestic workers<\/li>\n<li>Foreign workers<\/li>\n<li>Employer with no employee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h5><strong>EIS Rates<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>Under EIS, employees will be given a portion of the insured salary from the 0.4 percent monthly contribution. Employers must contribute 0.2%, while employees will contribute the remaining 0.2%. The contributions will be on a fixed rate based on the employees\u2019 salary.
